Introduction to Digital Marketing
In this course, you'll learn what digital marketing actually is, how its components fit together (SEO, social, email, ads, content), and how to think about marketing as a system — not a collection of disconnected tactics.
About this course
Digital marketing has more confusing jargon and bad advice than almost any other field. SEO, SEM, CRO, CTR, CPM, CPC, ROAS, funnels, attribution, organic vs. paid, inbound vs. outbound — the vocabulary alone can make people feel lost. Add in “growth hacks,” “viral tactics,” and constantly shifting platforms, and it’s no wonder most people approaching marketing feel overwhelmed.
This course is the antidote. We strip away the jargon (mostly) and explain how digital marketing actually works as a system. You’ll learn what marketing fundamentally IS, how customers move from “never heard of you” to “actively paying you,” what the major channels are (search, social, email, ads, content), how they fit together, and how to think about which to invest in for your specific situation.
We’re not going to make you an expert in any single channel — that’s what the dedicated courses cover. Instead, you’ll have the foundational understanding to know which courses to take next, which tactics fit your situation, and which marketing advice to skip. You’ll be able to have intelligent conversations about marketing, evaluate marketing tactics critically, and make smarter decisions about where to spend your time and money.
This course is the foundation for the entire Marketing series. Everything that follows — SMM Basics, Content Marketing, Copywriting, SEO, Email, Ads — builds on what you’ll learn here. If you’re going to invest in learning marketing seriously, start here.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for:
People starting a business who need to understand marketing fundamentals
Freelancers and creators who realize they need to market themselves, not just deliver work
Career changers moving into marketing roles who need a clear mental model
Marketing-adjacent professionals (sales, product, founders) who want to talk competently about marketing
Students considering marketing as a career direction
Anyone who’s been confused by marketing jargon and wants clarity
You don’t need any prior marketing experience. If you understand basic business concepts (customers, products, sales) and can use a web browser, you can take this course. We’ll explain every term we use.
How does the learning work?
This course is structured to build understanding gradually:
Concept-first lessons (10–15 minutes)
Each lesson introduces a concept, explains why it matters, then shows how it applies in practice.
Real examples throughout
Every concept is grounded in actual business situations, not abstract definitions.
Honest about what works and what doesn’t
We cover what genuinely matters in modern digital marketing and call out the hype that doesn’t translate to results.
System thinking, not tactic lists
You’ll learn how marketing components connect rather than memorizing isolated techniques.
Foundation for deeper learning
By the end, you’ll know which specific marketing channels to study next based on your real situation — not based on what’s trendy.
